An annual boiler service is one of those jobs that is easy to put off until something goes wrong. Getting it done every year keeps the boiler running efficiently, catches small problems before they become expensive ones, and keeps the manufacturer warranty valid, most brands insist on a documented yearly service to honour the guarantee.
A proper service is more than a quick glance. We check the gas pressure and flow, inspect the burner and heat exchanger, test the flue for safe combustion, check seals and the condensate, and make sure all the safety devices are doing their job. You get a clear record of what was checked and the readings we took.
It is worth booking in before winter rather than during it, when everyone is calling at once. Landlords, remember a service is separate from your annual gas safety certificate, though we can do both in the same visit and save you a callout.

A standard service takes around 30 to 45 minutes for most boilers, assuming no faults are found. If we spot something that needs attention we will flag it and give you a price before doing anything extra.
A service checks the boiler is running well and stays under warranty. A gas safety certificate (CP12) is a legal safety check landlords need each year for every gas appliance. We can do both in one visit.
